A success story of a Scrum Team- Part 1

I’ve been participating in multiple scrum teams, we’ve got used to perform following scrum practices:

• Holding Planning session to fulfill the Sprint tasks based on most important items of Backlog as well as Sprint Goal
• Holding daily to track the progress during the Sprint and align with Sprint Goal.
• Holding Sprint Review to present the Sprint result and collaborate about the accomplishments
• Holding Sprint Retrospective to plan how to increase the quality

These practices sound interesting because we could manage our tasks and track the progress then make it better, nonetheless I soon realized these were not enough.

Generally, during the Sprints, my teammates and I were not feeling motivated, consequently we had problem to reach the Sprint Goals as expected.

I’ve been aspiring to be part of a creative team in which I have commitment to reach the goal by self-motivation, recently I became a member of such a team and I want to tell you what the difference is.

Self-organizing team

I had heard about self-organized teams, but I did not recognize the significant characteristics until I joined a real one.

From my standpoint, members of a self-organized team define their achievements through the team success. Everybody has an idea about how to reach the goal, they feel like they belong to what they are doing. They are willing to help each other.

In CrowdSwap, the team expresses gratitude towards me and I, as a member of such team, feel secure enough to be honest and accept weakness and shortcoming and spend personal time to expand myself.

I love coming to work every day, and I really look forward to working with my colleagues, now I feel I’m doing my best.
